Israel is at war on several fronts including the media. At the forefront of all news outlets was the start of the Israel/Iran war in June 2025. The outcome was positive for Israel and the West, and yet, the Jewish state is still accused of many ills such as the genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip (a lie from Satan.)
Friends of Israel do exist, but they seem to be few and far in between. Her foes, on the other hand, are everywhere, they are vocal, they are active, and they are very loud. That combination creates a very toxic AND destructive environment. Two of the most vocal enemies of Israel in the media are Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson. Both used to be conservatives and friendly to the Jewish State. Both could use basic Bible study to educate them on God’s program and His divine decree.
They have now turned against Israel, and as they maintain a large audience online, their influence can become dangerous, so when various guests on their respective shows have an opportunity to speak on Israel and the Jewish people, they should grab it and display their support the best way they can.
This leads me to the recent interview that Tucker conducted with Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Halfway through the interview, Ted Cruz started to explain why he supported Israel. It was very hard to watch for two reasons. First, Tucker appeared to be arrogant, argumentative and even disrespectful. Second, Senator Ted Cruz was simply unprepared.
This “Israel Support”—part of the almost two-hour interview—will teach us several things about how to be better supporters of Israel. These principles can be applied equally to a formal interview, a coffeeshop conversation, or anything in between:
Come Prepared with Bible Verses
When Ted Cruz announced that he supported Israel because of what he read in the Bible, he was 100% correct, but when he was unable to locate the verse to back-up his claim, considering how controversial a topic Israel is with Tucker Carlson, he immediately lost his credibility. Tucker came back with a “Genesis” address without the 12:3, but he still appeared more in tune with the Bible than Ted Cruz. This was embarrassing. Consider this non-exhaustive list of verses in support of Israel (Genesis 12:3, 15:18-21, 17:2-8, 27:29; Numbers 24:9; Psalm 85:1-2, 122:6 ; Jeremiah 31; Ezekiel 36; Zechariah 2:8; John 4:22; Romans 9-11.)
Use the Proper Hermeneutics
It is not enough to come prepared with the word of God. There are two main approaches to the Bible: Literal and allegorical. Without going into details, an allegorical approach handles the text in a way that allows for symbolism and multiple meanings at various levels, concentrating on a search for deeper spirituality. A literal approach looks at the text based on the literal, basic meaning of each word, along with basic rules of grammar and syntax within context. It also allows for figures of speech as long as they are handled methodically.
When God gave us the Bible as a manual for living, He gave us a set of instructions to follow. When one reads a manual to fix a specific part in a specific car, it cannot mean anything else than that part for that car. That’s literal! Why should God’s love letter to humanity be any different?
When Ted Cruz said he supported Israel based on what the Bible said, Tucker Carlson asked him if he supported Israel’s government. Ted Cruz was quick to re-iterate that the text simply stated to support Israel. Tucker read more into the text than was available and injected a modern view of Israel into a basic Bible interpretation. Reading the news through a biblical prophecy lens using a literal method of interpretation is helpful, but the reverse is dangerous. It is often called “Newspaper Exegesis.”
Additionally, in her own commentary of the interview, Candace Owens declared that the Bible doesn’t say that Christians should support Israel. That is also a faulty interpretation. I am not certain that she really understands what is meant by Dispensationalism, and she certainly doesn’t present the truth about the Scofield Bible. She has previously claimed that that version of the Bible was financed by Zionists when the truth is that it was published by Oxford Press without the help of Zionists or the Rothschilds. Dispensationalism precedes Darby and Scofield by hundreds of years as documented in the scholarly work, “Dispensationalism before Darby“.
Expect Pushback
In the world we live in, especially as it pertains to our support of Israel, we will experience a lot of push back. People will disagree, and they will often do it in a belligerent fashion. Lately it has even turned physical and lethal. Support of Israel is a slap in the face of Satan who knows that his days are numbered. He is Hell bound (no pun intended!) The minute that the Jewish people cry out “Baruch Haba B’shem Adonai” at the end of the 7-year Great Tribulation, Satan is out of a job and his defeat dating back to Genesis 3:15 becomes official. In the meantime, Satan will gladly help all those who push back against Israel in thoughts, words and/or deeds, because he is desperate. I wouldn’t put it past him to influence influencers such as Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson to go against Israel, and with the combined audience that they cater to, the choking weed of antisemitism gets fertilized and grows better and faster in the soil of humanity’s sin nature and ignorance. Satan wasn’t able to stop the first coming of the Messiah and he certainly will not prevent His glorious return. Unfortunately, this will not prevent him from trying over and over.
This gradual and exponential departure from supporting Israel is expected from the liberal left and many others, but not from conservatives. The last faction of Israel supporters is dying off, and yet, not one word of our Bible has been cancelled and Israel is still the apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8a).
Our fight for biblical truth is ongoing and it truly is a spiritual battle, but when we support Israel, we are on God’s side, even if we are just a few. Supporting Israel means that we agree with her right to exist in this narrow sliver of land between the River and the Sea that was given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the twelves sons of Jacob (Israel’s twelve tribes). It never means that we agree with every move made by Israel’s modern government or that we reject Arabs’ right to exist as well, but it does mean that we agree with God’s message to the world about the chosen people and their right to their ancestral, biblical land.
Am Yisrael Chai!
