Never Give Up
Posted on Jun 01, 2015 Topic : Weekly Devotionals
Lord, please grant me strength to persevere.
Have you ever wrestled with a difficult relationship, trying to make things work but to no avail? Have you ever felt like throwing your hands in the air and walking away after fruitless efforts?
You’ve used kind words and deeds to draw a smile, thaw the ice, and remove the prickles. You’ve invested time and energy, but change is slow in coming.
I’m not a psychologist, but I’ve been around long enough to see some people as the walking wounded. Others have trust issues or struggle with fear or unforgiveness. Some may need professional counsel before they can enjoy healthy relationships. Others will warm and respond to kindness over time.
God puts difficult people into our lives for a reason. Honor Him by obeying Galatians 6:9—“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Persevere, my friend. Do not grow weary of doing good even if your efforts seem unnoticed. God sees your persistence, and He’ll reward you.
Take Action: Today, do a simple act of kindness for a difficult person you know.
