An Anchor of the Soul

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast. (Hebrews 6:19)

The Lord is faithful. His promises are sure. We can never drift off the solid anchor of His care. We are never alone. There is no situation, circumstance, or problem too big for our Lord. That’s the tonic we need to fire our blood and give us courage. The Christmas present to be opened every day of the year is written in the Lord’s own hand: “Lo, I will be with you always.”

The deep conviction of my life is that the Lord is always on time—never early, never late. We can let go of our worried grip on life. If we hang on to yesterday’s troubles, tomorrow’s fears, and today’s anxieties, we will overload and blow the circuits.

But now, because of Christmas, we can identify our deepest needs and surrender them to our Lord. Don’t let Christmas come and go without an experience of release from tension. Our hope is built on our Lord’s faithfulness. He’s there with you now. Trust Him. And then expectantly anticipate that at the right time and in the way that’s most creative to you and all concerned, He will intervene and infuse you with exactly what you need. What an exciting way to live!
