I just ordered your new book You Can Achieve Normal Blood Sugar. On April 2, 2019, my A1C was 7.1. My doctor prescribed medicine and told me I was diabetic and to exercise and begin to eat low carb.

I absolutely did not want to take pills. I knew I was in that range because I eat all I want and especially ice cream. Every night. So, rather than start this medicine, I went to the Phase 1 of Dr. Atkins Diet. Hopefully to keep carbs under 30 per day.

A month later, I have lost 10 pounds. More importantly, I have also taken blood sugar readings 2-3 times a day.  My readings have been between 80-110 almost every day. I really believe I can control my blood sugar with diet. And I know if I am a diabetic, this disease has been a self-inflicted one. I have an appointment to see my doctor in July and to get another A1C. He is aware of what I am doing and I gave him a copy of my chart I am keeping.

The only thing I am concerned about: many times the reading I take about 10:00 pm are under 100; but, the next morning, with no food/drink, the fasting blood sugar reading is higher: from 105-115. I try to have my last intake of food by 6:00 pm. Still, in the mornings I have come to expect this “higher than last night” reading.

I ordered your most recent book; perhaps it will help me understand this upward swing in the AM.

Thank you for any light you can shed on my situation.
