Sharing Good Food and God’s Love
For more than 2,000 years, people have started their day with a delicious meal in their bellies and the love of Jesus in their hearts. From bacon and eggs in the heart of North America to fresh baked bread in Antarctica, believers from each continent gather in the morning to share good food and conversation, giving thanks to God for all the wonderful things He’s done.
Inspired by the events found in John 21 where Jesus feeds his disciples, MyBreakfast with Jesus celebrates breakfast traditions from around the world. Your child will see people from all ethnicities following Jesus’s model of service: loving others by meeting their physical and spiritual needs.
This lovingly written and beautifully illustrated book will help your child make the connection between faith, food, and fellowship.

Reading this book is a treat, and I have added it to my favorite children’s books list! As a mom and a teacher, I greatly value books that not only inform, but also edify the reader. My 11-year-old son said what he liked best about the book was the “fact boxes” which explain about breakfast traditions in several countries (and outer space!), as well as the excellent artwork. I was also very interested in learning traditions, but my favorite part was realizing that people all over the world wake up praying and praising God! I also liked how the children in the pictures are enjoying time with their parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends - taking time to help others in need and valuing others the way God does.
This book would make an excellent gift for any child, a family who has little ones, a baby shower gift, or as a gift to a church or school/classroom library. I look forward to sharing this book with my students this fall!

My sons (ages 5 and 9) and I enjoyed reading this book together. What a beautiful picture of the global church! A fun way for kids to begin to learn about other countries and cultures. Could also be a great companion to start or continue a family practice of praying for brothers and sisters in different countries. The vibrant illustrations depict food, clothing, and buildings from 10 different countries (plus Antarctica and the International Space Station).
(I was provided with a free copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.)

A lovely celebration of faith and food that should be a part of every Christian family’s library.

“My Breakfast with Jesus” is a very unique and wonderful children’s book, and I love it! Mrs. Cho did a wonderful job of writing a book that is informative and interesting about the various kinds of breakfasts that individuals around the world eat. I love how this book displays the comparisons between the different cultures but points to how individuals from all of the countries in the world still worship the same God (the one and only true God). I also noticed that Mrs. Cho included information about the life and breakfasts in places that are not usually talked about (such as Antarctica and the NASA Space Station). Mrs. Cho wrote a book that is easy to read and interesting for young students, but she also included some words (which are in bold in the text) that young students may not know, and this feature helps remind adults to take the time to expand kids’ vocabulary by explaining these words to the young readers. In addition, the illustrations in this book are colorful and captivating. I am a first grade teacher, and I am excited to use this book in my classroom!

What a beautiful way to share breakfast blessings from around the world and the diverse breakfast foods shared with family and friends. It reminds us of God providing our daily bread. The hearty Iowa breakfast reminded me of the aromas of our farm breakfasts. I loved the calm, colorful illustrations and the easy to read text. This is a treasure I will share with many of God’s children.

This book shares how children from all around the world show their love for Jedus as they begin their days. It is a wonderful way for children to see a little bit of the traditions in other cultures. I love the explanations of each of the different country’s native foods. Although food and dress may be different all around the world, Jesus is still the same.

A delicious faith-filled trip around the world. I enjoyed learning about food and Christian faith practices of people around the words. This well-written book is a sweet combination of scripture and scrumptious food. It be a great way to start off a morning devotional, introduce a geography lesson, or talk about faith in action around the world. I loved it! Highly recommend!

From the moment we (my homeschooling kinfolk . . . niece and 2 nephews and I) opened the book, a conversation erupted with such enthusiasm and excitement. “There’s Jesus!” my 6 year old nephew exclaimed. “See how the illustrator made him?” That one question sums up our reading experience. The purposeful display of inclusion on each page encouraged my young learners to share and compare their real life experiences as followers of Christ. AND as major connoisseurs of delectable breakfast foods, they were astonished by the different kinds of breakfast foods there are. We even tried couple. As my niece stated, “Everybody loves breakfast. And we took a breakfast journey all over the world, didn’t we?” My young learners and I loved the engaging way author, Tina Cho invited us to be true participants as we delighted ourselves with in a choral reading of her rhythmic repeated refrain on every single page. I can see this book landing in many Easter baskets this season. What a wonderful, wonderful read!
