The End of the Dollar?

We are rapidly moving toward becoming a cashless society. It is clear that this modern development will help facilitate the mark of the beast, or the control of all commerce on earth, as well as the commercial success of New Babylon.

If the world were still using cash during the tribulation period, it would be very difficult for the antichrist to enforce his rule that no one can buy or sell without receiving his mark. However, in a cashless society—where every seller and every buyer has a distinct account number and dollar bills are no longer in use—it would be easy to enforce the mark of the beast. As we continue to go deeper into the end times, our world will become increasingly cashless.

And we aren’t that far off.

Our society has already gone “cashless” in a number of areas. If you take a flight on American Airlines, the flight attendant will tell you that you can buy sandwiches to eat, but you cannot use cash to purchase them. And they aren’t the only cashless airline.

Meanwhile, as people cruise on toll roads, smart technologies automatically charge their credit cards or bank accounts so that they do not have to slow down and manually give cash at a tollbooth. It all happens behind the scenes, and people are not even cognizant of the instant and seamless financial transaction that takes place.

Cash has met the beginning of its demise.

Economists tell us that the amount of real cash in circulation today is rapidly waning. In fact, the amount of cash being used today is less than half that used in the 1970s as more and more people use cashless options—credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Android Pay.

RFID chips (Radio Frequency Identification chips), which can be implanted underneath the skin and can store financial data, are another possible means of making cashless payments. All of this is the wave of the future. Even the few who choose to pay by check today typically have their checks read by a “check scanner” that instantly transfers money from their bank account to the vendor.

Presently, more than 70 percent of all consumer payments are electronic in nature. Some economists suggest that cash could soon become obsolete.

Dollar bills and coins will be relegated to the history books.

I often tell people that prophecies sometimes cast their shadows before them. As Bible expositor David Jeremiah wrote in his book The Coming Economic Armageddon, “We are on the cutting edge of having all the technology that the antichrist and false prophet would need to wire this world together for their evil purposes. Right now it is well within the range of possibility for a centralized power to gain worldwide control of all banking and purchasing.” Jeremiah further exhorts, “As we see things that are prophesied for the tribulation period beginning to take shape right now, we are made aware of the fact that surely the Lord’s return is not far off.”

All of this is “greasing the skids” for the rise of commercial New Babylon.

And it’s already in motion. The prophetic stage is now being set for events that will transpire during the future tribulation period.

We’re going cashless!

One day the mark of the beast will be enforced. And those living during the tribulation will witness the incredible rise—and the catastrophic fall—of New Babylon.
