7 Things Children Can Say or Do When They’re Afraid

Posted on Jan 21, 2020   Topic : Men's Christian Living, Women's Christian Living

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 14:27 (NIV)

Fear is a natural emotion, for children and adults alike. Whether your child's fear is of the dark, loud sounds, scary people, or something else, you can remind your little one to turn to the Lord no matter what he or she might be afraid of. Here's seven truths you can share with your child about what to do when fear starts to take hold (bonus: these reminders work for adult fears too):

  1. Remember that God is always with you and you are never alone.
  2. Pray to God and tell Him about what makes you afraid.
  3. Tell other people who love you about why you are afraid.
  4. Ask a friend or family member to pray with you.
  5. Thank God that His love takes away all your fear.
  6. Remind God that you love Him.
  7. Think about the things that make you happy, and thank God for them.

Help your child overcome fear by hanging these helpful reminders in your little one's bedroom. You can download your printable copy here
