After closing a high profile case, Colton Parker’s life is beginning to turn around. His detective agency has money in the bank, a growing clientele, and the relationship between Colton and FBI agent Mary Christopher is beginning to blossom. Things are looking up...until his daughter, Callie, vanishes.

The search for Callie will lead Colton into a world he has never seen. A world where everything is wrong—and wrong is right. A world where light is exchanged for darkness, and the truth is sacrificed for a lie.

If Colton is to save Callie in time, he will need to confront evil where it dwells. A confrontation that will affect both father and daughter for all eternity.

“The fourth installment in Brandt Dodson’s Colton Parker Mysteries, The Lost Sheep, is a fantastic read. The pacing of the plot is tight with short chapters that propel you through the story with the promise of ‘just one more.’ Reading the book is like a visit to the under–belly of Sin City, but manages not to rob the reader of hope.”
Cara C. Putman, author of Canteen Dreams

Editorial Reviews

“Dodson’s hard–boiled hero confronts evil in the form of a satanic cult and learns that some enemies can’t be defeated with a gun.”
World Magazine

The Lost Sheep by Brandt Dodson is the fourth book in his A Colton Parker Mystery series and the first Brandt Dodson book I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Brandt Dodson powerfully weaves a spiritual thread through the Las Vegas scenes, showing Parker how God never leaves the lost sheep. Though Vegas is an incredibly odd place to find such a thread, the setting makes the message so real, so practical to every person living, that Dodson successfully brings the message of salvation to everyone. I hope we see many more Colton Parker novels in the future.”

"Overall, this is an exciting read."

“This is the first Colton Parker book I’ve read (it won’t be the last), but that did not lessen the thrill ride one bit. Dodson provides the essential background details, but mostly chugs the story forward through his use of the emotions any parent can relate to, while telling his story in the hard–nosed, first–person point of view of Parker, a P.I. not afraid to do anything to secure his daughter’s return, including quasi–legal—and illegal—techniques.”

The Lost Sheep is a fantastic read. I don’t usually like gritty PI type stories. The bleakness can wear me down. But there is something about the characters that Brandt crafts that propels me through stories that do nothing to hide the ugly side of life while reflecting enough light to keep the darkness from being overwhelming.”

"The Lost Sheep by Brandt Dodson is the fourth book in A Colton Parker Mystery series. I love this mystery series because the characters and their relationships are believable and the plot will have you on the edge of your seat as the clock ticks on! Your heart will go out to Colton as he searches desperately for his daughter. Read on, friends!”
Five Star Book Reviews

"Dodson’s dialogue zips across the page with chemistry and bristles with Parker’s anger and frustration. I really enjoy this mystery series because while there is a Christian undercurrent, Parker isn’t a believer and has a hard time dealing with those who do have faith...Dodson’s writing reminds me of Chandler and Hammett, and there were moments that made me gasp with shock. Terrific dialogue and taut suspense make this a must read.”

Reader Reviews

“Dodson’s style is sparse and a welcome masculine voice in the mystery genre of inspirational fiction. I find myself rooting for Colton Parker for a couple of reasons. Like the rest of us, he has his flaws, but ultimately, at the core, he is a good man who faces his demons and finds redemption really is possible. That gives the rest of us hope. Colton’s knock–down–drag–out fight with evil will keep you sitting on the edge of your chair, turning the pages long after you should’ve flipped the switch and crawled under the covers.”
Kelly Irvin

“Colton Parker is a well developed character and I cared what happened to him in The Lost Sheep. The cover drew me in and the content did not disappoint me. I plan to read more Brandt Dodson novels in the very near future.”
Sharon A. Lavy

“Brandt’s fourth novel is strong proof that this prolific writer gets better with each new book. The Lost Sheep is another hard–driving story that dares the reader to put it down before it’s finished. Heart–stopping events, a father’s compulsion to save his daughter, and an intriguing character dynamic kept me glued to the story. I was fascinated by revelations brought to light concerning the story’s setting (Las Vegas) and I look forward to more from this affable, strong Christian writer.”
Phil Dunlap, author of Fatal Revenge

“First, I want to say how much I enjoy this series. It has made me think a lot about GOD. I really enjoy how Mr. Dodson portrays Colton Parker as a regular man who struggles with his own beliefs, but doesn’t shove it down the reader’s throat. The subtle way he brings religion to life for the readers is awesome. I hope he will continue this series, as I am wondering where Colton Parker and his family’s lives go from here. THANK YOU so much for bringing a little hope to me.”

The Lost Sheep by Brandt Dodson is a great read. The characters are sharp and on–the–go. Brandt sets up a compelling mystery, this time entangling the hero’s daughter in the web of danger and intrigue. So many times books disappoint me with their endings, the climax feeling contrived or wane. Not so with Brandt’s book. I felt very satisfied with the culmination of the story. Recommended for all those PI–style readers out there—and those who aren’t!”
